Kind David has just set a tent up for the ark and is now giving an inaugural reception of sorts in 1 Chronicles 16.

Couple of cool points...There is 24/7 worship around the tent ...ordained by the King. And the King participates by offering a first psalm to kick it all off. Some themes from this first psalm: Thank God, Sing To Him, Study God, Seek Him Day & Night, Remember His Miracles.

As you can see, these themes aren't just relegated to a pretty song...only sung on Sunday. It's a lifestyle of worship theme we can thread into our daily lives. We are the tents...we are the temple where the presence of God lives....we are the church where this atmosphere of worship should reflect through our Monday - Saturday. What reflection are you casting today?

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc

Hillsong London

Check it out...see it here before it's out...God's power lives in us, the same power that conquered the grave.

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc
Loud Interruptions in Quite Times

I thought that would be a good subject to talk about my morning....my "sacred quite time" with God. Which actually became a different time of engagement with God...via my 4 1/2 year old who decided to wake up an hour earlier.

What God revealed to me is how we tend to get into a routine that we deem as sacred. The, "this is the only way I can get intimate with God," routine. Where we have to have the same methods, time, and disclipine to feel complete. I know it's legalistic, but when you're in the middle of it....well, it becomes comfortable and familiar.

God spoke the words yesterday through a great friend, and amplified them this morning. Simply put, Jesus never saw inconveinence. He only saw opportunity. By church/ministry standards today, Jesus' ministry would be seen as random at times and continually interrupted. He didn't get the one week planning time. The 22 minutes of worship. The welcome note. The 35 minutes time to preach, with an invitation.

No, he found people where they were. He got in the middle of the mess. He took every encounter and made it ministry. So this morning I see this loud interruption to my normal morning as an opportunity. And I just heard my 1 year old fall out of the bed, gotta run to another interrup...i mean opportunity.

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc

Two Things That Don't Change Around The World

I have been on an adventure around the world the last week...and currently in Hong Kong preparing to leave for London. Met some really cool people that are bringing the gospel to Asia, based in Hong Kong. The gang from The Vine Church are amazing, check out some live worship here:

Their YouTube channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/thevinehk take a peek, looking forward to seeing what God is going to do through them in the days ahead.

So, back to the subject line of this blog....two things that don't change around the world...

1) God's love for people is the same around the world. In every city, in every region, in every language, in every dark place, and in every light filled area....God's love for people doesn't change, and can't be contained by our conditions.

2) People's response to God's call, people's response in worship to a true God, people's lifestyle of worship will bring a tangible representation of God's love that will usher in His Kingdom.

That is God's purpose, for the body...the church to be His hands and feet. To be His real love for a real world that is in desperate need of Him.

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc

Encounterfest -- Australia

"Unity is the name of the place where 'God commands blessing,' the road to that place is called honor." -- Gary McDonald (Metro Church).

I just experienced the first night of Encounterfest at Hillsong Church in Sydney Australia. My take away from the night was unity...in a word, unity describes what God is doing here in these lives. There were youth and adults from all walks, unified to praise God. Unified in music, prayer, and devotion.

I watched as Carl Lentz took a room full people pumped up for God into a place where we all became unified in our act of worship towards each other. We turned to our neighbors to encourage, hug, and pray for each other.

By the end of the night it was a room where everyone was praying over each other. I watched as worship leaders like Joel Houston walked around praying over people....not as Joel "the worship leader," but as Joel the brother in Christ....unified with other brothers and sisters.

That is what this world needs. Not a people who thinks the most important person is themselves. Not a people who thinks they are beyond servanthood. This world needs to see Christians who are true followers. This world needs to see Christians who emmulate what Jesus did in his ministry. This world needs to see the church unified. This world needs to feel the love of christ from the church who is one unified body.

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc
The Kingdom Of God

It begins in God's holy spirit working in your life and your relationships...it is among us...how is the kingdom growing in your area today?

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc
Daily Encouragement

Psalm 62:5

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.

-----------------------
Quote For The Day:

A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.
-- Mark Twain

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc
Daily Scripture

James 3:17

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Worship Gone Bad

Friends don't let friends worship like this...

Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
---------------------------------
check out the other side:
www.digiscape.wordpress.com

Follow my twitter
www.twitter.com/estesc
Daily Scripture

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Quote of the Day:
You know, we don't grow most of the food we eat.
