I just experienced the first night of Encounterfest at Hillsong Church in Sydney Australia. My take away from the night was unity...in a word, unity describes what God is doing here in these lives. There were youth and adults from all walks, unified to praise God. Unified in music, prayer, and devotion.
I watched as Carl Lentz took a room full people pumped up for God into a place where we all became unified in our act of worship towards each other. We turned to our neighbors to encourage, hug, and pray for each other.
By the end of the night it was a room where everyone was praying over each other. I watched as worship leaders like Joel Houston walked around praying over people....not as Joel "the worship leader," but as Joel the brother in Christ....unified with other brothers and sisters.
That is what this world needs. Not a people who thinks the most important person is themselves. Not a people who thinks they are beyond servanthood. This world needs to see Christians who are true followers. This world needs to see Christians who emmulate what Jesus did in his ministry. This world needs to see the church unified. This world needs to feel the love of christ from the church who is one unified body.
