So which side of the fence do you sit on? I should spell the word right, fense that is...de or of...defense will alot of times push you back, while making the circumstances seem overwhelming. It can turn you around into retreat...it can amplify what is really a simple, foolish tactic of the enemy.
I'm afraid defense can become a lifestyle. Where you always react to the moment, the situation, the now. It can become part of the your mind, body and spirit. If you let , it will become the natural posture that controls everyday of your life. The sad thing is most people mistake their defense as an offense.
Now don't get me wrong, behind every great offense is a good defense. You can swing to the other extreme and live in 24/7 offense. But i truly believe when it comes to our spiritual walk with God...we need to be initiating, pro-active, offensive. And when it comes to our spiritual battles against the enemy we have to be offensive in God's power. He has only given us feet to stand in His righteousness and a shield of faith to stand up to deflect the enemy.
We were not designed to run or hide...to cover or retreat...we were made for battle. Our only defensive measure is to stand our ground and call in more offensive support from our God who has already won the battle!
Breathe In & Smile Out,
Chris
